Faculty of Public Health Universitas Diponegoro conducted Summer Course Program in collaboration with Queensland University of Technology, Australia. This Summer Course was held offline from 21 November 2022 to 3 December 2022 themed “Community Participation in Public Health” in Semarang and other cities around Semarang. This activity was followed by 5 students from the School of Public Health and Social Work, Queensland University of Technology as a form of international cooperation between the two institutions.
The first day was opened with an opening ceremony with a series of opening speech by the Dean of FKM UNDIP, Head of the UNDIP’s International Office, and enlivened by the FKM UNDIP band, Studio 8. The activities carried out for 2 weeks included providing material with various interactive learning methods, and related field activities with Community Participation in Public Health such as visiting the Tlogosari Kulon Health Center, Posyandu, mosquito breeding eradication activities, Bank Sampah Resik Becik, Posyandu for adolescents in groups of street children, and so on. The participants also practice in making Batik Ciprat in Klaten.
Participants are also invited to learn about local culture, for example participating in batik training, visiting the Cultural Arts Association and the Sobokarti Cultural Heritage Building, learning the process of making traditional herbal medicine, and so on. This activity is expected to be a starting point for other collaborations in the Academic and non-Academic fields, especially in increasing the Internationalization of the Universitas Diponegoro.
