About Course

There are many environmental changes related to internationalization programs such as internationalization of learning curriculum, student mobility, lecturers and staff, foreign language studies, research collaborations and so on. Universitas Diponegoro is trying to support the many environmental changes that have occurred and to accelerate the achievement of SDG’s indicators, especially one in the health and environment sectors.

The aim of Public Health Faculty Universitas Diponegoro is to play an active role in internalization in line with the vision and Strategic Plan Universitas Diponegoro. This vision also supports the Long-Term Strategy for Higher Education in Indonesia.

The Summer Course Program activities are held to integrate lecture activities and field practices, so that participants can gain scientific insights in the field of health and various good practices and cultures obtained through this activity. Furthermore, through the Summer Course Program, it is hoped that it can open opportunities for collaboration between FKM UNDIP and universities abroad both in terms of academics, student affairs and research.

In the era of globalization, public health challenges are becoming increasingly complex, ranging from infectious diseases to non-communicable diseases influenced by modern lifestyles. On the other hand, local wisdom and traditional culture often offer unique solutions that can support sustainable public health efforts. Local traditions not only reflect a community’s identity but also hold values relevant to modern health principles, such as dietary habits, healing practices, and community-based approaches.

The Summer Course Program 2025, themed “Public Health through The Lens of Traditional Culture and Local Wisdom”, aims to explore how traditional culture and local wisdom can become an integral part of public health initiatives. This program provides an opportunity for participants from various countries to understand, discuss, and collaborate in examining the relationship between public health and traditional culture. Furthermore, it is expected to foster a strong global network among academics, practitioners, and students to create innovative, culture-based solutions for future public health challenges.

.This program aims to:

  1. Improve the involvement of lecturer and student from foreign universities to study about “Public Health through The Lens of Traditional Culture and Local Wisdom”. at Public Health Faculty Universitas Diponegoro
  2. Improve and share the study material related with Community Participation in Public Health
  3. Improve the multicultural collaboration with universities from other countries
  4. Improve the quality and promotion of the Public Health Faculty Universitas Diponegoro internalization
  5. Improve the number of student inbound and academic staff from other countries in Public Health Faculty Universitas Diponegoro

The Summer Course Program will be held through Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) at moocs.undip.ac.id and live using zoom meeting application. These activities will be held at 15 Mayth – 15th June 2024.

Program participant of Summer Course Program include of:

  1. Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral Student from universities in many countries other than Indonesia
  2. Lecturer, researcher, practitioner especially in health area in many countries other than Indonesia
  3. Diponegoro University student and alumni which is foreigner that study in health area
  4. Private and government staff from many countries other than Indonesia
