Summer Course 2023

The Summer Course Program activities are held to integrate lecture activities and field practices so that participants can gain scientific insights into the field of health and various good practices and cultures obtained through this activity. Furthermore, through the Summer Course Program, it is hoped that it can open opportunities for collaboration between FKM UNDIP and universities abroad both in terms of academics, student affairs, and research.

The risk of climate change impacts will be related to the adaptations that must be made. The occurrence of sea level rise will impact coastal and lowland communities around the world with the emergence of flooding, erosion, and submergence of beaches, as well as the loss of small islands. This will mainly affect island nations. Climate change is also causing shifts in geographic ranges and migration patterns of terrestrial and marine species. Some species will face extinction. Ocean warming and acidification pose major risks to marine ecosystems, particularly polar and coral reef ecosystems. Indonesia, which is known as a mega-biodiversity country, has very complete types of land and sea ecosystems. This climate change will certainly have an impact not only on the environment but also on public health. Ecosystem-based adaptation is also one of the priority agendas for climate change control.

In response to this issue, the Faculty of Public Health Universitas Diponegoro will hold a summer course program with the topic Community Participation in Public Health “Public Health Coping and Adaptation Response to Climate Change in Coastal Area”. Summer course program integrates lecture activities and field practice, especially in health topics.
