The 4th day of the Summer Course Program activity was a visit to the herbal medicine village in Wonolopo Village, Mijen, Semarang. Arriving at the location, the participants were greeted enthusiastically by the Chairman of the Jamu Gendong Wonolopo Association, Mr. Kholidi. Mr. Kholidi invited the participants to see the practice of making Jamu. They will make beras kencur (rice and aromatic ginger) and tamarind turmeric.

The process of making Jamu starts with washing the ingredients (rice, aromatic ginger, and turmeric), then grinding them, pressing them, and filtering them. The result will be mixed into the boiled water of palm sugar. Participants taste the herbal medicine that has been prepared. They were very impressed with the delicious taste of the herbs. Mr. Kholidi also said that the demand for herbal medicine increased during the Covid-19 pandemic. Mr. Kholidi can produce more than 100 liters in a day. Participants were very impressed with the success of the home herbal medicine industry in Wonolopo herbal medicine village.
